“It’s All in the Cards”

March 30th, 2009

The tarot is a mystical tool that bridges the gap between the conscious and spiritual worlds, and also delivers clear advice that we can use to benefit our existence. Whether you’re a believer or non-believer, tarot has an uncanny ability to empower lives, provide clarity, and improve self awareness.

Working with the tarot is an effective intuitive device for most because it speaks to us in beautiful imagery. When we look at a picture, the conscious mind immediately processes the information and strikes up a conversation with the subconscious (inner selves). And as they communicate, the subconscious mind searches the memory for every image that relates to that picture. The pictures form in the mind’s eye and when that happens, both sectors merge and come alive with clarity. Our conscious self processes all the life experience we’ve accumulated in connection with that image. At the same time, our subconscious mind searches our intuitive reactions, draws conclusions, and merges with the information collected by our conscious self. Once both sectors of knowledge come together, we achieve an understanding of what the picture is trying to tell us.

Essentially, the tarot is designed to tell a story. Once we determine what the characters are doing and how they’re interacting, the message comes through loud and clear. Tarot works to provide us with choices and allows pause for thought. It unearths the hidden truths that we can not see and those we refuse to acknowledge. Although tarot does not predict the future, it shows us what is likely to happen if we continue upon our present path. Armed with such knowledge, we can decide to change our current route or move forward.

Although the tarot can tell us the time is right for us to turn in a different direction or stay the course, the cards do not exist to rule our lives. They serve as a spiritual compass. Ultimately, we have to be the masters of our own destiny and using the tools of the tarot, help ourselves to achieve a better present and brighter future.
